Located on the island of Holbox, just off the northern coast of Cancún, boutique resort CasaSandra has a modern, yet rustic style with every design detail steeped in luxury. Spa and well-being experiences such as sunrise yoga and pilates sessions on the beach allow guests to immerse themselves in the outstanding natural beauty of the resort, whilst taking part in truly bespoke CasaSandra activities. Outside the property there is plenty to explore with Yalahau Lagoon (Three Island Tour), snorkelling and diving as well as whale shark and dolphin watching.
Holbox Island is considered one of the Mexican Caribbean’s best-kept secrets. Cancún airport is just 50 miles away – making the resort easily reached by ferry, private boat or small plane.
Superior Standard rooms are designed with a rustic décor and sea views, while the Beach Front Superiors rooms are adorned with Mexican details, found on the upper floor terrace of the main house.
The Garden Suites can be found in a small independent house, with a private balcony and a view of the sea and the Ocean Suites are larger rooms adorned in a rustic yet elegant manner, with a King-sized bed and lounger.
Master Gardens are found in small buildings, recently built with a luxurious decoration and ample spaces, with further commodities such as a dining table and living room. The Master Suite has a spectacular view of the sea and a private balcony.
All of the rooms are have air conditioning, fan, hair dryer, organic amenities, Nespresso machines, bathrobes, beds with just the right firmness for the perfect relaxation with 600 thread Egyptian linens and soft pillows. Internet access is available in the common areas only and just two of the rooms have TVs, allowing for a full luxury disconnect.
Villa Dreams is the perfect house to accommodate the entire family. Located on the ground floor, this villa has two rooms; the main one has a king-sized bed and the second with two double beds.
- Food & Beverage
In the morning Amanecer’s dining room opens up to the sea with baroque music for breakfast, which features a selection of regional fruits, coffee and espresso, fresh juices, fruit frappés, homemade breads and traditional Mexican egg dishes from the henhouse. On the hearty side, pancakes and bacon and the speciality: Huevos Chilaquiles.
Hidden in the shade of the palapa (thatched huts) the Blue Bar, by the poolside serves refreshing cocktails, natural juices, top shelf liquors, a selection of fine Mexican wine, popular beers and unique tequilas and the famous mojito made with Havana Club 3 años. The kitchen’s creative team shifts to traditional Mexican classics like pork tacos tikin chik, three types of ceviche and lobster tails on the grill and favourites like steak arrachera, fresh fish and paella. Cuban desserts like trés leches and guava cheesecake are the perfect touch to a relaxing siesta.
